This year pianist Angela Hewitt celebrates 50 years of performing Bach’s monumental Goldberg Variations. Her first performance of it took place in her home town of Ottawa, Canada on March 16, 1975. It will be a unique experience to hear this monumental work performed by one of the major Bach interpreters of our time in the awe-inspiring setting of Perugia’s Basilica of San Pietro, The concert will be performed in the nave with the audience in a semi-circle, to enhance the intimacy.
