The Trasimeno Music Festival Association presents:
The 3rd International Angela Hewitt Masterclass, July 8 – July 12, 2016 in Perugia, Italy, in partnership with the Istituto Musicale Diocesano G. Frescobaldi.
Angela Hewitt invites you to take part in her third International Piano Masterclass in beautiful Umbria. The chance to participate in a masterclass for five days with one of the most sought-after pianists in the world will be an inspiring event, not to be missed!
The venue for the masterclasses will be the Auditorium Marianum of the Istituto Musicale Diocesano G. Frescobaldi in Perugia, Corso Cavour 184. The masterclasses will be given in English.
Tuition
400 € for active participants
100 € for auditors
Daily auditors:
20 € per day (adults)
10 € per day (under 25)
Per 3-hour Session:
10 € (adults)
5 € (under 25)

All applications for active participants must be received by May 17, 2016.
To avoid disappointment please apply early, as places for active participants are limited.
Active participants – Maximum 10
Active participants must be between 14 and 30 years of age. Any student under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

All students wishing to perform as active participants in Angela Hewitt’s masterclass must submit recent (in the past 2 years) links to online videos of performances of two works from different periods. Auditors need not submit any links.
All active participants will be notified of acceptance via e-mail no later than May 23, 2016.
A certificate of participation will be given to all active participants at the end of the course.
The tuition fee for active participants must be received no later than June 14, 2016. The method of payment will be given upon acceptance.
Practise facilities are available in the Istituto G. Frescobaldi where the course is held. The studios are open from 8:30 am to 9 pm.

Masterclass repertoire
All active participants must prepare the following:
– One major work of J.S. Bach (or 2 Preludes and Fugues, not including The Goldberg Variations or The Art of Fugue)
– One classical Sonata (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, CPE Bach)
– One romantic work
– Two own choice pieces (but not by Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Scriabin, Medtner, Bach/Busoni or any other Bach transcriptions)
– One concerto for piano and orchestra
All works must be prepared from memory
All students will be expected to attend more than their own lessons. They must sit in to listen for either the morning or afternoon sessions.
