Bach and the Art of Improvisation, Part Two
Sunday 25 July 2021 | 20:30
Angela Hewitt, piano
Rudolf Lutz, organ – piano
Two Bach specialists get together to talk… BACH! Why did Bach choose a certain key for a piece? What did each key mean expression-wise? Angela will play extracts from the keyboard works; Rudy will comment and improvise around them—on the Fazioli but also on the restored 1509 organ in this beautiful church in Trevi. Who knows where this evening will take us? You will certainly come out knowing more about Bach than when you went in!
The concert will end with what will no doubt be a spectacular performance by Rudolph and Angela of Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor, arranged for piano duet.
The concert is approximately 75 minutes in length with no interval.
