Chamber Music in Magione

Sunday 2 July | 21:00

Petrit Çeku, guitar/mandolin
Benjamin Schmid, violin
Florian Eggner, cello
Angela Hewitt, fortepiano

Beethoven: Andante and Variations in D major for mandolin and fortepiano, WoO 44b, Hess 45
Mozart: Piano Sonata in A major, K331 (“Turkish March”)
Boccherini: Introduction and Fandango for guitar and fortepiano (after Guitar Quintet in D Major, G. 448 by Boccherini)
Beethoven: Piano Sonata in C-sharp minor, Op. 27 No. 2 (“Moonlight”)
Paganini: Terzetto concertante in D major, op. 66, MS 69, for violin, cello and guitar

Who knew that Beethoven wrote some works for mandolin and piano? Who knew that Paganini was also a brilliant guitarist? And who knew that Angela Hewitt played the fortepiano? Tonight’s programme gives you a chance to hear all those things, and also introduces three distinguished soloists to the Trasimeno Music Festival for the first time. Exciting!

There will be no interval.

Pre-concert talk with Eric Friesen and the artists at 8 p.m.
