After meeting last year at a music festival in Graz (at which Benjamin and colleagues improvised on Bach’s Goldberg Variations after Angela’s performance of them), Benjamin and Angela decided they must perform some Bach together. Since his debut at the Salzburg Festival as solo partner of Sir Yehudi Menuhin in 1986, Benjamin has become one of the most important violinists of our time with an intense, worldwide career already spanning four decades. It will be a joy to hear them together in this new venue for the festival: the ancient round temple of San Michele Arcangelo in Perugia.
There will be no interval.
