2012. Schools concert by Angela Hewitt

On February 3, 2012 at 11 a.m., pianist Angela Hewitt will give a concert for school children at the Scuola Media Statale in Magione, organized by the Associazione Trasimeno Music Festival in collaboration with Prof. Giuseppe Materia, Dirigente Scolastico dell’Istituto Omnicomprensivo Scuola Media Statale of Magione. Special thanks goes to the Comune of Magione (PG) as well as to the Associazione Turistica Pro Magione whose support helped to arrange this event.

The Associazione Trasimeno Music Festival, in collaboration with the Liceo Classico Annibale Mariotti of Perugia organized a lecture recital by pianist Angela Hewitt. Bringing classical music to young students who rarely have a chance to experience it, the event took place on Thursday, April 14th, 2011 at 11 am in the Auditorium of the Hotel Giò in Perugia. At least 500 students participated, thanks to the interest of the Headmaster Prof. Filippo Vincenzo MAIOLO and his staff.

The first international week-long masterclass given by pianist Angela Hewitt was held in Perugia, Italy this summer from August 17-23, 2010. It was a presentation of the Associazione Trasimeno Music Festival and was held in the Auditorium Marianum in the heart of the city. To read more about it, please go to our News page.

In 2010, Angela Hewitt gave masterclasses at both the University of Ottawa and the University of Saskatchewan that were sponsored by the Canadian Friends of the Trasimeno Music Festival.  A special fundraising event was also held on October 16, 2010 at the University of Ottawa in which Angela Hewitt performed with young Ottawa musicians Kerson Leong (violin) and Stanley Leong (cello).

In 2009, two concerts were held in schools in Umbria in which pianist and Artistic Director of the Festival, Angela Hewitt, played for school children, and participated in a discussion on the music played led by Giovanni Costantini.  The first one was held in Magione on October 22, 2009, and the following day a similar event took place at the Istituto Tecnico Commerciale Statale Aldo Capitini - Vittorio Emanuele II in Perugia

Also in Canada on November 13, 2009, flautist Andrea Oliva (guest artist of the festival in 2008 and 2009) gave a masterclass at the University of Toronto.  The masterclass was hosted by the Canadian Friends of the Trasimeno Music Festival in collaboration with the Department of Music.
